The plot centres on a land acquisition case, where a powerful industrialist tries to grab land in a village, with Arshad Warsi representing the villagers and Akshay Kumar initially representing the industrialist before switching sides. The film is inspired by the 2011 Bhattha Parsaul land acquisition case.
