Angira Dhar's entry steals the limelight in Jombieland

Commando 3 actor Angira Dhar is making her entry into Pollywood with Jombieland but she is probably the strongest character, at least in the teaser. When the male lead himself runs on fear, comes the fearless woman on a bike with a gun in her hand. This will remind you of Saif Ali Khan in Go Goa Gone but better because who doesn't like seeing women in action? Speaking about her movie in a media statement, Angira shares, "Jombieland is more than just a horror-action film; it’s a survival story rooted in emotion, community, and resilience. There’s grit, there’s heart, and there’s a whole lot of mayhem."

Kanika Mann's first glimpse as the lover in Jombieland

The teaser is the first time we get a glimpse of Kanika Mann as the lover in Jombieland. The actress appears for a split second and still manages to leave you longing for more. "My character is a fighter, someone who evolves with every challenge, and portraying her was both liberating and intense," she says, while giving hints about what to expect of her ahead in the story.

The only comic scene in Jombieland teaser

Angira's character, who has a lot of knowledge about zombies, shares with Binnu Dhillon (Carry On Jatta) about how zombies get irked when they hear a sound. Just then, Binnu Dhillon looks at a child who is visibly uncomfortable and asks him to not do something. Within moments, the child lets out a loud fart, causing the zombie chaos to unfold again. A classic but overly-repeated comedy, the scene leaves little impact, especially with the women already stealing the show.

About Jombieland

Jombieland prides itself as Punjab's first zombie horror-comedy film (Marathi film industry's first Zombivli released in 2022). The movie is about lovers who get lost while battling zombie epidemic in Punjab of 2032 and try to reunite. The concept was recently explored in the K-Drama Newtopia (starring BlackPink's Jisoo in the lead role), but the drama did not work as expected. The women in Jombieland, on the other hand, leave you with a promise. The movie will be out in theatres on June 13, with no set OTT release date or platform so far.
