It’s a ‘wish granted’ for Jon Hamm! The Mad Men star is finally getting his own series on Apple TV+. The confirmation is a dream come true for Hamm as he had expressed his desire to be a part of the streaming platform previously in an ad. The actor is not only starring in but also will serve as an executive producer in the drama series, Your Friends and Neighbors.

According to Variety, the show is based on Jonathan Tropper’s idea and is bringing Hamm back to star in a live-action role after his long-run show Mad Men concluded in 2015.

Banshee and Warrior creator, Tropper has a working deal with Apple TV+ and thus he will be serving as a showrunner and exec producer, alongside Hamm and Connie Tavel. Apple Studios, Hamm, and Connie Tavel will executive produce the series.

Jon Hamm’s role in Your Friends and Neighbors

Hamm portrays a newly single hedge fund manager, who takes to crime after losing his job.

After being fired from his job, the now jobless divorcee resorts to petty theft and starts his journey as a burglar by stealing from affluent residents in his tony upstate New York suburb. However, his new profession seems to be biting him when he is at a "wrong house and place" after a heist plan goes wrong.

The upcoming drama series Friends and Neighbours is marking Jon Hamm's reunion with Apple TV after starring as a main lead in The Morning Show's third installment. The opportunity falls under Hamm's lap after his desire to collaborate with the streaming platform two years prior via a commercial ad, where he is urging Tom Hanks to help him land his show.  The 52-year-old actor is also known for his appearances in the fifth season of FX’s Fargo, Good Omens season two, Grimsburg (animated comedy), and also the feature films Maggie Moore, Top Gun: Maverick, Fletch, and Confess.

More information on the release date is yet to be confirmed.
