Joto Kando Kolkatate: Anik Dutta begins his new film after Aparajito

Last year, in May, Anik Dutta swept the audience off their feet with his tribute to Satyajit Ray in Aparajito. With Jeetu Kamal playing Aparajito – a character based on Ray – the film has an impressive box office report. Now the director is all set with his new film, Joto Kando Kolkatate. On Thursday, the first porter of the film was revealed on social media. In the film, Abir Chatterjee will play a prominent role.

In the film's poster, Abir Chatterjee is seen alongside Bangladeshi actress, Quazi Nawshaba Ahmed. Both of them are gazing upwards in astonishment. In the background, one can see a glimpse of Calcutta cacophony – a collage of trams, cars, taxis, houses, and other markers of the city.

What exactly happens in Joto Kando Kolkatate and what's brewing in The Kolkata Case is yet to be revealed. Directed and penned by Anik Dutta, the shooting of the film will start soon. Debjyoti Mishra will be responsible for the film's music. Saptarshi Majumdar will serve as the executive producer. Suchismita Dasgupta will design the costumes for the actors. Anand Adhya will be in charge of art direction. Indranath Marik and Arghya Kamal Mitra will handle the camera and editing respectively. Friends Communication and Big Screen Productions will produce the film.

The work of Joto Kando Kolkatate was scheduled to start earlier. However, Anik Dutta suffered from a respiratory problem earlier this year. The recce was done and now the shooting will begin. However, this film won't be released this year. It is scheduled to be released in Puja next year. As a result, the audience will need to be patient to watch this film.
