Jo and Jo director Arun D Jose’s latest Malayalam romantic drama Journey of Love 18+ has begun streaming on a leading platform from September 15 onwards. The OTT release of the movie, which had hit theatres almost two months ago, has been much-awaited by the youth audience .
Starring Naslen, Meenakshi, Mathew Thomas, Binu Pappu, Saafboi and Nikhila Vimal, the film revolves around two youngsters who plan to elope and the consequent challenges they have to face along the way. Journey of Love 18+ is currently streaming on Sony LIV.
Journey of Love 18+ targets the youth audience
The movie, much like Arun’s previous directorial Jo and Jo, is told through its young protagonists. In an earlier interview with OTTplay, Arun said though his primary target audience is the youngsters , the film also deals with aspects that are relevant to all age groups. “Even though it has a young cast, the movie was made with the idea of reaching out to a wider audience through them,” he said.
Journey of Love 18+ revolves around two youngsters – Akhil and Athira – who plan to elope and the consequent challenges they have to face. The movie is also set against the backdrop of politics, even though the makers don’t quite make use of the setting.
Naslen and Mathew Thomas reunite for Journey of Love 18+
Journey of Love 18+ marked the second release this year featuring Leo actor Mathew Thomas and Naslen, who had incidentally starred in his first lead role with the movie. The duo was also part of Neymar, which is currently streaming on Disney+ Hotstar, earlier this year.
Arun told us that both actors approach films with a certain seriousness and because they are flooded with offers right now, it’s never easy to impress them with a subject to get their dates.
