Sanchith Sanjeev, the nephew of Kannada superstar Kiccha Sudeep, is now ready to make baby steps as an actor. After years of tailing his illustrious uncle on film sets and public events and dabbling with direction, Sanchith announced his intention to step in front of the camera. The launch vehicle would be in-house, it was decided, for which, Sudeep’s wife Priya got a separate production wing going – Supriyanvi Pictures. Sanchith wanted to direct himself in his debut film, Jimmy, but the scale of the movie was such that he decided to put it on hold for now and do another project instead.

Supriyanvi Pictures was still in the mix, in collaboration with KRG Studios, and the chosen subject was by a debutant filmmaker, Viveka, who has chosen a story from a little over 2 decades ago. Set in Mysuru, the film, a crime drama, has Sanchith as a DVD store owner, a Man whom Mysuru loved, respected, admired, feared, celebrated, idolized & what not, as per the title reveal teaser that was launched today for the actor’s birthday.

'Swag annodu blood alle bandide', say netizens about Sanchith

Viveka’s film is called Mango Pachcha, with the teaser offering only a fleeting glimpse of Sanchith, who has adopted the screen name Sanchii, lighting a cigarette, as he sits at the table reserved for him at a local bar. Fans have absolutely loved the teaser, and have been drawing comparisons between Sanchith and Sudeep – whether it is the swag or the style of smoking, the strapping your actor deserves the title Jr Kiccha, they reckon.

Mango Pachcha, incidentally, was a subject that Viveka had pitched to Daali Dhananjaya, who was keen to play the character. But over time, both Dhananajaya and Viveka felt that the role needed a new face and the actor then took the script to KRG Studios, from where it then came to Sanchith. Kajal Kunder is the leading lady of Mango Pachcha, while Mayur Patel and Hamsa Prathap are in supporting roles. Sriimurali’s nephew Jai, who was in Grey Games, has a pivotal role.
