The epic box office battle is heating up as two massive films, War 2 and Coolie, are all set to clash on August 14, 2025. While War 2 is technically a Hindi film, the buzz in the Telugu states is sky-high, thanks to Jr NTR making his much-awaited Hindi debut alongside Hrithik Roshan.

The Telugu theatrical rights of War 2 have been snapped up by popular producer Naga Vamsi, who also released NTR’s Devara in a record number of screens. Banking on NTR’s craze, Vamsi is planning a massive release across Telugu states for War 2, which has now put serious pressure on Rajinikanth’s Coolie.
The theatrical rights of Coolie have been acquired by the Asian Group for a staggering Rs 85 crore. The group owns a wide network of theaters across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and is planning a large-scale release. This has led to an intense theater war between War 2 and Coolie, creating buzz and tension within trade circles.
As of now, Naga Vamsi holds the upper hand, having already blocked a majority of prime screens for War 2. With Jr NTR at the forefront and a star like Hrithik Roshan backing him, exhibitors are leaning heavily toward War 2. On the other hand, Coolie has its strengths, it stars the legendary Rajinikanth and features Nagarjuna in a key role, with direction by the sensational Lokesh Kanagaraj, who commands a strong fanbase in the Telugu states.
