Jr NTR's Devara postponed, here's the new release date of Koratala Siva action drama

Devara is NTR's latest action drama, which is being directed by Koratala Siva. The film is 90% done with its shoot and is all set to hit screens on April 5, 2024. But since last night, news has come out that the film has been postponed to a further date.

We at OTTplay have come to know that Devara will now hit the screens on August 15, 2024, the same day as Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2, which is being directed by Sukumar. The reports going around reveal that due to the delay in the VFX work, the makers have decided to postpone the film.

One of the sources close to the unit tells us, "There is no question of the film being delayed due to the VFX part. The makers have already wrapped up related to CG work long ago, and they are already in the post-production phase in various parts of the world."

When asked further, the source adds, "It is due to the elections in Andhra Pradesh that the film has been postponed. The state of AP is going into elections in the first week of April and NTR does not want his film to be released during that period as the audience will not be interested much in watching films during this time."

This election fever is high this time as superstar Pawan Kalyan has joined hands with ex-CM Chandrababu Naidu and the fight for the CM post is quite tough. August 15, 2024, is a special date and the makers have chosen this date as news has come out that Pushpa 2 will also be postponed and it has now moved on to the Christmas season release.

As Sukumar has yet to wrap up a chunk of the shoot, the release will be delayed. Ever since the news of Devara being postponed came out, the fans of NTR have been hugely disappointed. It has been quite some time since we saw NTR on screen after the release of RRR a few years ago.

Also, there is news that the injury to Saif Ali Khan has pushed the shoot schedules a bit and that is also one of the reasons for the postponement. Whatever the reason, Devara is now postponed and an official confirmation is yet to be made by the makers. Anirudh composed the music for this film and Janhvi Kapoor is the female lead. Netflix has bagged the OTT rights to the film.
