Sukhmanee Lamba has gained attention for her performance as Dr. Kiran in Jubilee, a role in which she ultimately marries Sidhant Gupta's Jay Khanna. However, the actor, oddly enough, had not initially auditioned for this role. The performer admits she wanted the part of Niloufer before Wamiqa Gabbi was cast in it.

The actor told Mid Day that two or three auditions for Niloufer passed without success on her part. But the director, Vikramaditya Motwane, really liked her screen test and asked her to join the cast. She continued that he asked her to play Kiran without even auditioning her for it.

After a lengthy wait, Sukhmanee finally got to see the critically acclaimed web series. The actor debuted in the 2017 film Badrinath Ki Dulhania, starring alongside Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan. Despite her hopes, the film did not serve as the catalyst for her acting career.

The wait was discouraging at first for her, but as a theatrical performer, she started improving herself and using each audition as a performance opportunity. In 2019, after much hard work, Sukhmanee finally got Jubilee. But not until 2021 did it start turning. As a result, she has realised that patience is one's greatest asset.

In Jubilee, a studio mogul (Prosenjit Chatterjee), his movie star wife (Aditi Rao Hydari), his trusty aide (Aparshakti Khurana), a nautch girl (Wamiqa Gabbi), and a refugee (Sidhant Gupta) all cross paths in a newly independent India on the hunt for fame and fortune.

Amit Trivedi composed the songs, while Alokananda Dasgupta did the score for the web series. Kausar Munir was responsible for all of the lyrics.

Jubilee premiered on Prime Video on April 7, 2023, with the first five episodes. A week later, the OTT giant dropped the rest of the five episodes. In no time, the series caught the attention of the masses and became an instant hit.
