Wamiqa Gabbi plays a pivotal role in the recently released web series Jubilee. Set in the 1950s, it revolves around the Hindi film industry.

Since the release of the 'Babuji Bhole Bhaale' song, Wamiqa has been receiving a lot of praise for her look in the song, which has become a talking point.

Talking about her process of preparing for not just the song but also her character in the show, Niloufer Qureshi, Wamiqa said that she had to make a continuous effort to avoid caricaturing the character.

Wamiqa said, "Playing a character in a period drama is extremely tricky because we tend to caricature people the way we have seen them in movies. However, the dance sequences are different since they used to have very subtle movements and heavy eye and facial expressions."

The Grahan actor added, "To get those right, I have taken inspiration from actresses like Rekhaji and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and watched songs by legendary actresses over and over again to prepare for the peppy jazzy number Babuji Bhole Bhale."

The vibe of the song reminds one of the peppy number Kaisi Paheli Zindagani from the Parineeta, which was picturised on Rekha. Aishwarya has mesmerised audiences with her grace in songs like Kajra Re in Bunty Aur Babli.

Interestingly, both Kaisi Paheli Zindagani and Babuji Bhole Bhale have been sung by Sunidhi Chauhan. The latter was written by Kausar Munir and composed by Amit Trivedi.

Created by Vikramaditya Motwane, Jubilee also stars Prosenjit Chatterjee, Aparshakti Khurana, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sidhant Gupta, Ram Kapoor, and Shweta Basu Prasad, among others. It is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
