Jugjugg Jeeyo, starring Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor, hit theatres on Friday. Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani play a couple who is seeking divorce in the movie. Varun has now revealed that he and Kiara used to get into arguments at the set of the movie and one time, the Kabir Singh actor even called him ‘chauvinistic’.

Talking to Pinkvilla, Varun revealed that he and Kiara got into two or three fights before they shot an important scene in the movie. “Because we were discussing the scene and she was like ‘I will say this.’ And I was like ‘but that’s not my point of view.’ As a man that’s not my point of view. I have to earn for my family because that’s what I have been taught. She’s like ‘no you are chauvinistic,” he said.

Varun added that he did not know how this was chauvinistic because his brother and father think the same way and that he does not think he is chauvinistic because he feels the need to earn for his family.

Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani play a bickering couple contemplating divorce in the movie. However, when Varun’s character decides to tell his father about this as they reunite for a function, he learns that their parents could also go through a divorce.

Jugjugg Jeeyo, which deals with an issue such as divorce in a rather light-hearted tone, has received good reactions from the fans. Director Raj Mehta had said in a previous interview that he wants to leave the audience with a thought rather than just make them laugh.

“Kiara's scenes with Varun are also enjoyable to watch as they delve deeper into how a millennial views marriage. Love is never enough, and it's the miscommunication or lack of talking to each other that leads to a crack in the relationship of a young couple,” read a portion of the movie’s review on OTTplay.

Also starring Maniesh Paul and Prajakta Koli in important roles, the family dramedy is now playing in theatres near you
