Jugjugg Jeeyo: T-Series confirms that they have the rights to Nach Punjaban, shuts down Abrar Ul Haq’s claims

The upcoming family entertainer Jugjugg Jeeyo has run into some trouble ahead of its release. Pakistani politician and singer Abrar Ul Haq claimed that the movie’s makers and Karan Johar had copied his song in the movie. But T-Series has now said that the rights to the song have already been acquired. 

“We have legally acquired the rights to adapt the song #NachPunjaban released on iTunes on 1st January, 2002 & available on Lollywood Classics' YouTube channel, owned by @1Moviebox, for #JugJuggJeeyo produced by @DharmaMovies”, T-Series wrote in a Tweet as they shared a note explaining it in more detail. 

They added in the note that all due credits will be included as the song releases across all platforms. 

Abrar Ul Haq had recently tweeted that the song Nach Punjaban was used in Jugjugg Jeeyo without being licensed and that he would take legal action. He also had added that if is claiming the song, to produce the valid documents. 

The movie’s makers recently released its official trailer. The song Nach Punjaban can be heard playing in the trailer at one point. The trailer has been received well and already has over 35 million views on YouTube.

The movie is backed by Hiroo Yash Johar, Apoorva Mehta and Johar under the banner of Dharma Productions and Viacom18 Studios. Directed by Raj Mehta, the movie stars Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor in the lead, along with Manish Paul, Prajakta Koli and Tisca Chopra in important roles. 

The movie’s promotional strategies had earlier caught the eyes of the fans, with the lead stars sharing photos from their own wedding. Karan Johar had confirmed that the family entertainer will revolve around a family reunion.
