The makers promoted the film quite aggressively, and thanks to its superhit music, Junior released with a lot of hype. Though the film was termed routine by critics, debutant Keerthi Reddy was appreciated for his dances, fight sequences, and decent screen presence.

However, with Pawan Kalyan’s Hari Hara Veera Mallu now in theatres, Junior is likely to lose out on screens, as audiences will naturally lean toward the bigger film. That said, Junior has achieved what it set out to, and recovering the budget was never an issue for the makers, as the project was primarily intended to launch the hero.
