"Just go to the south industries...": Hush Hush actor Juhi Chawla's first acting advice to Kiara Advani

The very-intriguing web series Hush Hush premiered recently on Amazon Prime to encouraging reviews with many lauding the makers for putting together an exciting star cast together. For actor Juhi Chawla, the series meant the beginnings of a new venture, hopefully, as she set her foot for the first time as the lead in the OTT world having previously dabbled with a lot of offbeat content (Jhankar Beats, My Brother Nikhil, etc.). The senior actress and producer has been interacting with the media in this regard to share her experiences working on the longer format and the refreshing change it has brought about in storytelling.

In the same vein, Juhi Chawla was asked about the budding career of actor Kiara Advani, whom she has known for a very long time. Juhi and Kiara's father Jagdeep Advani's friendship dates back to their time together as 'building mates' as little kids and although the two would eventually choose different career paths, it was apparent that the former would be a great source of guidance for Kiara Advani. Speaking about the same in a recent interview, Juhi said:

"Kiara's father and I were building friends and we have chased each other playing games and stuff back then. And then we grew up and he began dating Kiara's mom so I have seen Kiara in different stages of her life although we eventually moved out of that building and we all went separate ways, the bond of being a childhood friend is different. So, when Kiara was starting out, she would ask what she could do with her acting career and my advice was simple: Just go down south, practice over there, and meanwhile, roles would come along here (in Bollywood). She would say 'nahi, nahi - I'll wait' and all that but she did go to the Southern Film Industry. Because I feel it's a great training ground."

Having made her debut in 2014 with Fugly, Kiara Advani ventured into the Telugu Film Industry with Bharat Ane Nenu (opposite Mahesh Babu) and starred alongside RRR actor Ram Charan in Vinaya Vidheya Rama in 2019. Kiara and Ram Charan are back together on screen for the much-awaited Shankar directorial RC15 (working title).

In the same interview, Juhi Chawla also referred to the other star kids such as Varun Dhawan and now Suhana Khan whom she has seen grow up into capable movie actors and said that while most of them have had the opportunity come by easy, they all are incredibly hard-working.

As far as Hush Hush is concerned, the series has been created by acclaimed director Tanuja Chandra who has also directed the 10 episodes along with Kopal Naithani and Ashish Pandey. The show's principal cast also includes Ayesha Jhulka, Soha Ali Khan, Kritika Kamra, Shahana Goswami, Karishma Tanna, Chaitannya Choudhry, among others.
