Kaantha, the upcoming Tamil film starring Dulquer Salmaan in a yet another period drama, is all set to release this week. Set during the 1950s era, and a fictional take on superstar actor life, Kaantha will be Dulquer’s latest period drama after Lucky Baskhar and Sita Ramam. Kaantha is set to release in theatres, after years of making, on November 14. The film will primarily release in Tamil and Telugu. The film will be the only major Tamil release, and will be enjoying maximum screens.

With over 5 million views as of now, Kaantha trailer introduces us the glitzy and glamourous world of 1950s Tamil cinema, where Dulquer Salmaan plays TK Mahadevan, a famous actor and star. The cast of Kaantha is led by actors Dulquer Salmaan, Samuthirakani, Bhagyashri Borse and Rana Daggubati, among others. Written and directed by Selvamani Selvaraj, with both Dulquer and Rana serving as producers, the film is shot by Dani Sanchez Lopez and edited by Llewellyn Anthony Gonsalvez. Kaantha is a period drama, which is set against the backdrop of 1950s Madras, a place and period when film studios were thriving in the filmmaking industry. With Dulquer Salmaan playing a famous actor TK Mahadevan, the protege of director played by Samuthirakani. The film majorly plays between these two characters, and their ego clash on the sets of making a film.
