Kaantha OTT release date: Where and when can you stream Dulquer Salmaan film in Telugu and Hindi

Kaantha, the 2025 Tamil period drama which features Dulquer Salmaan in the lead role, is this week’s one of the major OTT releases. The film is heading to Netflix for its OTT premiere and will be released on Friday. The film will also be available in Telugu and Hindi, along with other languages, including Malayalam and Kannada as well.

Kaantha is a Tamil period mystery drama thriller directed by Selvamani Selvaraj and co-written by Tamizh Prabha. The film stars Dulquer Salmaan as the charismatic yet troubled film star TK Mahadevan, alongside Samuthirakani, Bhagyashri Borse, and Rana Daggubati, who also serves as one of the producers alongside Dulquer.

The film released in theatres in November, and is now going to come on Netflix from Friday. Kaantha will stream in multiple languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam. In Kannada, the film will be called Shaantha. Kaantha is a story set in the 1950s Madras Presidency, where the film shooting took place in studios. An ego clash between an actor and a director creates friction on the film sets. Matters take a darker turn when a mysterious murder occurs on a film set, prompting an investigation led by a detective, with both men becoming prime suspects.

The cast of Kaantha is headed by Dulquer Salmaan who plays the lead role, with Bhagyashri Borse making her Tamil debut. Samuthirakani, Rana Daggubati, Ravindra Vijay, Gayathrie Shankar, Vayapuri, Nizhalgal Ravi and others are also part of the cast.

The movie also features a strong technical team with cinematography by Dani Sanchez-Lopez, editing by Llewellyn Anthony Gonsalvez, and music by Jhanu Chanthar with background score contributed by Jakes Bejoy. Kaantha had opened to middling reviews, with the performances of the cast much talked about. As per Sacnilk, the total box office collection of Kaantha is Rs 35 crore. The film had made close to Rs 27 crore in India, with the rest Rs 8 crore coming from overseas.
