Hunt will also mark Bhavana’s second Malayalam film in five years

Veteran filmmaker Shaji Kailas has been one of the busiest directors in Malayalam film industry since the pandemic. The Aaraam Thampuran director has been jumping from one project to another, and has now started work on his fourth movie in two years.
After Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Kaduva and Kaapa, and Mohanlal’s Alone, the filmmaker will now work with Bhavana, Anu Mohan, Rahul Madhav and G Chandunath in the thriller titled Hunt. The movie’s pooja function was held on Wednesday and the movie has officially gone on floors.
The suspense thriller, scripted by debutant Nikhil Anand, will mark Bhavana’s second collaboration with the filmmaker after Chinthamani Kola Case. Apart from Bhavana, the movie also has Ajmal Ameer, Renji Panicker, Aditi Ravi and Nandu in pivotal roles, and Palakkad will be the main location. The film, as per reports, will be set in a medical college.
Hunt will also be Bhavana’s second Malayalam movie in five years. She had completed the shoot of Adhil Maimoonath Asharaf’s feel-good romcom Ntikkakkakoru Premondarnn, which was filmed extensively in Thrissur. The movie, which also has Sharafudheen, Anarkali Nazar, Ashokan and Shebin Benson, was scheduled to hit theatres in December, but was postponed to next year.
During the audio launch of the movie, Bhavana had said that it has a cute love story that people of all groups will relate to. Meanwhile, the actress is also expected to be part of Bhadran’s upcoming movie Eo, which has Shane Nigam and Gautham Menon as the male protagonists. Bhavana will be seen essaying the role of a multiple-time National Award-winning actress in the film, which is set to go on floors by mid of 2023.
Shaji Kailas’ latest directorial Kaapa, which has Prithviraj, Asif Ali, Anna Ben and Aparna Balamurali, is currently running in theatres. The filmmaker’s Alone, which is a pandemic thriller starring Mohanlal, is expected to release on January 26, 2023.
