The celebrations have begun early for Darshan's fans as the makers of Kaatera open advance bookings as many as six days prior to the film's theatrical release. The Tharun Kishore Sudhir directorial is set to release on December 29 and knowing the popularity that the Challenging Star merits, one can expect the opening day to be booked out at the box office.
More importantly, audiences would love to know that the earliest show of Kaatera will begin just after midnight on Friday in select theatres in Bengaluru. And already, one finds the show to be in the "fast-filling" space and is likely to be declared housefull over the next day or two.
In an era that is seeing EMS or Early Morning Shows to be in vogue, team Kaatera has taken things up by a few notches as far as planning is concerned - along with the 12:05 am show, there are 3:30 am, 5 am and 6 am shows also in the offing.
'Kaatera' marks the third collaboration between Darshan and Tharun Sudhir (including 'Chowka') and one will get to see the 46-year-old actor in a different, unconventional avatar in the film. As the trailer suggests, the duo has together tapped into the "performer" in him and while the film also boasts all the makings of a commercial entertainer, one wishes to watch the film primarily for his performance. Moreover, there is the period 1970s setting to look forward to amongst other aspects.
The trailer of Kaatera also suggests that the film is centred around an agrarian situation with Darshan's character, apparently, leading a crusade against certain oppressors. The cast also includes Jagapathi Babu, Aradhana Ram, Shruti, Kumar Govind, Avinash, Vijanath Biradar and others.
On the other hand, Dheekshith Shetty recently joined the cast of the Telugu film 'The Girlfriend', which stars Rashmika Mandanna. Dheekshith plays 'The Boyfriend' in Rahul Ravindran's film and the makers unveiled a small sample of his character; quite evidently, he is set to surprise us once again. He also has 'KTM' up for release.
