According to Lyca Productions' official statement, the shooting of AK 62 will start by the end of this year and will release in mid-2023

We had told you Ajith Kumar would be joining hands with filmmaker Vignesh Shivan for his 62nd film. Tentatively called AK 62, it will be bankrolled by Subaskaran under Lyca Productions. The project will have music scored by Anirudh Ravichander.
The latest buzz is that Vignesh Shivn has an update on the film. During an interaction on Twitter with fans, the director revealed that the script work of AK 62 has been going on for the past three years, and he's yet to finish it "neatly soon". So, from Vignesh Shivn's response, we understand that the final script of AK 62 is not completed yet.
According to Lyca Productions' official statement, the shooting of AK 62 will start by the end of this year and will release in mid-2023. Other details about the cast and crew of the film are yet to be announced.
"Lyca is very proud and happy to have joined with Mr Ajith Kumar. As a team, Lyca is committed to carrying out a sincere and fruitful collaboration to provide quality films to the audience and fans," read the statement.
Ajith who was last seen in Valimai has been currently shooting for AK 61 in Hyderabad. We hear the makers are planning to wrap it by October, as the film is likely to release for Diwali.
AK 61, touted to be an action-adventure flick, is the third collaboration of Ajith, producer Boney Kapoor, and director H Vinoth.
Vignesh Shivn's latest release was Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal. The film was released to mixed reviews, on April 28.
Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal also features Prabhu, Kalaa master, Redin Kingsley, and Sreesanth in supporting roles. Incidentally, this is Anirudh Ravichander's 25th film. Vignesh Shivan's previous films include Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, Thaanaa Serndha Koottam and Love Panna Uttranum, his segment in the Netflix anthology Paava Kadhaigal.
Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal is produced by Seven Screen Studios and Rowdy Pictures.
