The Censor Board of Film Certification has cleared Vignesh Shivn's much-awaited romantic comedy, Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal, with a U/A certificate. Rowdy Pictures, the firm producing the film, confirmed the news by tweeting about it, "Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal censored U/A. Releasing worldwide on April 28."

The film, featuring Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara and Samantha in the lead, has triggered a huge interest among both the audience and critics alike. The trailer of Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal was released a few days ago. The trailer, which crossed 14 million views, began with the characters of Nayanthara, Samantha and Vijay Sethupathi meeting each other in a temple, reminding us of the famous scene from Vijay's Kushi. Some shots reminded us of iconic scenes from Titanic, SS Rajamouli's Baahubali, and Kamal Haasan's Sathya, too.

From the trailer, we understand that Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal is a triangular love story. The film also stars Prabhu, Kalaa master, Redin Kingsley, and Sreesanth in supporting roles.

Shot by cinematographer Vijay Karthik Kannan, Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal has music by Anirudh and editing by Sreekar Prasad. In the film, Nayanthara plays Kanmani, Samantha plays Khatija and Vijay Sethupathi plays Rambo, (which is an acronym for Ranjankudi Anbarasu Murugesa Boopathy Ohoondhiran.)

Lalit Kumar of Seven Screen Studio and Rowdy Pictures are jointly producing the film. Last day of the shooting, Samantha had an interaction session with her followers on Instagram where she was asked about her experience working with Nayanthara. "Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal will be Nayanthara's best work yet. And, Vignesh Shivn has put his heart and soul into the film. I am praying for the success of our film," Samantha had said.

Incidentally, Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal, is Anirudh Ravichander's 25th film, as a composer. Vignesh Shivn's previous films were Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, Suriya's Thaanaa Serndha Koottam and Love Panna Uttranum (The anthology, Paava Kadhaigal is streaming on Netflix.)
