There is no denying the fact that Kabir Khan and Katrina Kaif share a close bond with each other. Kabir and his wife Mini Mathur were among the few couples invited to Katrina and Vicky Kaushal’s dreamy Rajasthan wedding in December 2021. Now, in an interview, he has revealed that Katrina’s more like family to him. He also said that over time, he has become closer to Vicky and his family too.

He said that his association with Katrina started with New York (2009). He later worked with her in Ek Tha Tiger (2012) and Phantom (2012). He has also worked with Vicky’s father Shyam on six films, and also featured Vicky’s brother Sunny Kaushal in his first web series, Forgotten Army.

Speaking to Human of Bombay, Kabir said that Katrina was the closest famous personality to him in the industry. He also added, “Katrina is much more than a friend now. She’s like family. We go back all the way to New York, but more than just the three films that we’ve done together, it’s just the times we’ve spent together. Now she’s married to Vicky, who again I consider part of my family. I’ve done six films with Vicky’s father, Sham ji. Vicky’s brother Sunny was in my first web series Forgotten Army. So yes, I would say Katrina’s family.”

In the same interview, the filmmaker also talked about his inter-religious marriage with Mini Mathur. He said that their relationship is accepted by both the families wholeheartedly and that Mini’s father says the difference between Khan and Khanna is ‘na’, which means non-applicable.

Kabir's last film as director was 83, starring Ranveer Singh. He has also announced that Kartik Aaryan will play the lead in his upcoming film.
