Kannada filmmaker R Chandru’s most ambitious project to date, Kabzaa, is set to release in theatres in just about a month’s time. The filmmaker is releasing the film in multiple languages and to ensure maximum visibility and reach, he is travelling across the country to promote it. Chandru kicked things off with the title track launch in Hyderabad, which he has followed up with a video song that was released in Chennai. The filmmaker is expected to release one more song, prior to the film’s theatrical outing, with the trailer launch to be held in Mumbai as a mega event.

The title track by composer Ravi Basrur did not work wonders with audiences and was widely panned as being too similar to the Toofan song from KGF. Some even went to the extent of calling it the rejected version of the KGF number. The music director had already received brickbats for the teaser, wherein the background score was also reminiscent of the Yash starrer. However, today, with the release of the second song from Kabzaa, Ravi has redeemed himself considerably. Called Namaami Namaami, the song, written by Kinnal Raj and sung beautifully by Aishwarya Rangarajan, is a classical dance number featuring Shriya Saran looking stunning as Princess Madhumathi.

Kabzaa, which Chandru has written, directed and produced, has been co-produced by Alankar Pandian of Invenio Origins. The film is releasing in theatres on March 17, which the filmmaker says is his tribute to the late Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar. Kabzaa, which is being released in two parts, follows the rise of a gangster who ruled over India between the 60s and 80s. Boasting a large ensemble cast led by Upendra and with actors like Sudeep, Shivarajkumar in pivotal cameos, Kabzaa also stars Kabir Duhan Singh, Nawab Shah, Murali Sharma, Posani Murali Krishna, Anup Revanna, Danish Akthar Saifi, John Kokken, among many others.-
