Kaddha Chitra was Vijay Raghavendra’s first release after the tragic demise of his wife Spandana only weeks earlier. Despite the trauma that he was in, the actor decided to soldier on, so as not to inconvenience the team of the film. The pre-release promotions, of course, centred more around the tragedy in the actor’s life than the film itself, but he handled it with poise, as Kaddha Chitra was a film that he was excited about, as his character has shades of grey. The film is now available to stream, having been picked up by Amazon Prime Studio.
Directed by debutant Suhas Krishna, Kaddha Chitra is about Vijay Raghavendra’s character, Vijay, a popular author’s brush with plagiarism. How Vijay deals with the allegation of plagiarism and the effect this has on his personal and professional life forms the crux of the narrative. In fact, at the trailer launch in August, Vijay had said that he was initially not sure about playing a character with grey shades, but then took up the film as he did not want to let go of a good project and team. While the official synopsis states that the film explores the rise and fall of his character, Vijay, director Suhas adds that there are a bunch of conflict points and crime too, which makes the film fall in the thriller genre.
Kaddha Chitra, produced by Sandeep HK and Suhas D for Shanvi Talkies, also stars Namrata Surendranath, Raghu Shivamogga, Balaji Manohar, Baby Aradhya, among others. Vijay Raghavendra has a few films lined up for release, including Grey Games and Case of Kondana. The actor is currently shooting for a film called Rippon Swamy and juggling work with the responsibilities of being a single, yet hands-on dad for his son Shourya.
