Kaithi 2 producer SR Prabhu says about sequel: We started the works a month back...

The follow-up to the Tamil film Kaithi, starring actor Karthi in the lead, is one of the most anticipated sequels in Tamil cinema. Kaithi 2, which will feature the reunion of the Aayirathil Oruvan star with director Lokesh Kanagaraj, is expected to begin shortly, the producer of the film confirmed recently. Kaithi 2 update: Producer confirms that works have begun for Karthi-Lokesh Kanagaraj film

Kaithi 2 is the upcoming sequel to the 2019 film directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The film is bankrolled by Dream Warrior Pictures and serves as the first part in the LCU universe, followed by Kamal Haasan-starrer Vikram and Vijay's Leo. Kaithi is about a convict who is let out to see his daughter. However, he gets pulled into a world of crime after a police officer seeks his help to bust a drug-smuggling ring.

Ever since the universe became a hit, the makers have been questioning the update on Kaithi 2. Speaking recently to the media, SR Prabhu of Dream Warrior Pictures said, “The works have already begun about a month back, and we will go on floors from this year end,” he said, adding that they are already working with Karthi for another film with director Thamizh. It is expected that after Coolie release on August 14, Lokesh will begin working on Kaithi as his immediate film.

The world of LCU is linked to Vikram and referenced with Karthi’s Dilli character appearing as a voiceover. Actor Suriya also made a cameo appearance as Rolex in Vikram, and will be serving as the main antagonist to the universe. Fans are eager to see Karthi and Suriya’s onscreen battle.
