Jayatheertha Jayanna and composer Ajaneesh B. Loknath's previous two collaborations, Bell Bottom and Banaras, have set the bar high and one hopes that Kaiva, their upcoming film together, lives up to the expectations.
While Bell Bottom, starring Rishab Shetty and Hariprriya, was a comedy crime caper set in the 1970s, Banaras was a unique sci-fi romance that boasted a soothing soundtrack. Kaiva, on the other hand, is based on a real-life incident and the film transports us to the 1980s to a very particular place and time in Bengaluru's history. So, the music of the film, too, will play a huge role in shaping the narrative. The makers have now offered the first taste of the music of Kaiva, in the form of the first single titled 'Sankranthi Sanjeli'.
Sung by Ajaneesh Loknath himself and Aishwarya Rangarajan, Sankaranthi Sanjeli is centred around the characters played by Dhanveerah and Megha Shetty and the romance between them. Jayatheertha, who has also written the film, recently divulged that the iconic Karaga festival of Bengaluru is a main feature of his film and the love story we get to see in it will expectedly involve the element of Hindu-Muslim unity. In the Karaga ritual, for the unversed, the procession famously visits the tomb or the Dargah of an 18th-century Muslim saint. The song also features Dr. V Nagendra Prasad's lyrics.
While the said love story plays a major part in the film, the recently released teaser of Kaiva suggests that the film will include lots of stylish action and fight sequences. Dhanveerah, an action star in the making, plays the central role in the film which boasts not only larger-than-life commercial elements but also a strong dramatic core. So, one expects to see the performer in him shine under the guidance and vision of Jayatheertha Jayanna.
The cast of Kaiva also includes Dinakar Thoogudeepa, Jayaram Karthik (JK), Nanda Gopal, Ugram Manju, Raghu Shivamogga, Ramesh Indira, Mahanthesh Hiremath, Yash Shetty and others.
