Kajol, who is already a part of three movies namely Maa, Do Patti and Sarzameen, will now be seen in action in her next. The film, co-starring Naseeruddin Shah and Prabhu Deva, has gone on floors. It is the first time that Kajol will be seen in action. The director of the movie, Charan Tej Uppalapati, spilled some details on the project during his recent interaction. Here’s everything we know…
Kajol’s action debut
Kajol will be making her action debut with the movie. While talking to Hindustan Times, Charan confirmed, “Kajol ma’am is doing action for the first time, she enjoyed pulling off stunts and has been very encouraging.” He further shared how Prabhu Deva often stepped in, since he is a filmmaker himself. It is interesting to note that Kajol and Prabhu Deva had collaborated on a film named Sapnay (Minsara Kanavu in Tamil and Merupu Kalalu in Telugu) 27 years back. While that was a love story, the upcoming film might not see them romancing on screen.
What is the film about?
The yet-untitled movie also stars Samyuktha and the director explained that since the movie is about the bond between a mother and her daughter, them bonding is crucial to the movie, and the two actors made it look natural. The movie, an action-thriller-drama is about how parents feel when their kids move on. The director picked up the topic seeing how there are many parents and grandparents with nobody to take care of them. He further hints at more sequels on the film by stating that he has penned many scripts over the years but wanted to debut with this particular one.

On Naseeruddin Shah, Charan says that he is certain that if the actor picks up a role, there is validation that the movie is good. He recalled how it was an immediate yes from the actor, and not just that, Naseeruddin told him that it is about time people made a movie on the subject.
The helmer further said that while it would have been easier if he made the film in Telugu, but since he wanted to challenge himself, he chose to film it in Hindi. However, the movie will be dubbed in all South Indian languages.
Apart from Kajol, Prabhu Deva, Naseeruddin Shah and Samyuktha, the movie also stars Aditya Seal and Jisshu Sengupta. The teaser of the film is scheduled for release in the coming week.
