The state government of Tamil Nadu have announced the winners of Kalaimamani awards for the years 2021, 2022, and 2023. Among the winners, the top honours were bagged by actors SJ Suryah, Manikandan, and Sai Pallavi. The announcement was made on Wednesday, with the awards to be given out soon by the chief minister MK Stalin.

The Kalaimamani award is the highest civilian award by the Tamil Nadu government, conferred to those who have achieved in the field of arts. The awards were announced by the government on Wednesday. The list of winners includes those for the years 2021, 2022, and 2023. The MS Subbulakshmi award for music went to renowned singer KJ Yesudas.
For the year, 2021, SJ Suryah and Sai Pallavi bagged the top honours of Best Actor and Best Actress, while Lingusamy won for Best Director. Stunt coordinator Super Subbarayan also won for his contribution to cinema. SJ Suryah and Sai Pallavi, both are known for their exemplary work in the field of cinema and best known for their onscreen powerful performances. Both the actors have predominantly worked in the Tamil and Telugu industries. Meanwhile, Lingusamy has helmed blockbuster films like has made films like Paiyaa, Sandakozhi, and Run.
The winners for 2022 include veteran actor Jaya Guhanathan, Vikram Prabhu, and lyricist Viveka, among others. Meanwhile, for the year 2023, the winners include actors Manikandan (Jai Bhim, Good Night, Lover, Kudumbasthan) and George Mariyan (Dragon, Kaithi). Composer Anirudh Ravichander, choreographer Sandy Master, who was recently seen as a scathing antagonist in Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra, and singer Swetha Mohan, were among the list of awardees.
When will the Kalaimamani awards be given out?
