Kalki 2898 AD was a blockbuster hit at the box office, and everybody wants to know when the sequel, Kalki 2, will go on floors. As the project involved some of the biggest stars in Indian cinema, getting their dates was a big task. Also, as Deepika Padukone was pregnant with her first child, the makers had no option but to wait until things settled and all the stars could give proper dates to this big spectacle film.

Since then, there has been a hue and cry about when the film would go on floors. Well, the director Nag Ashwin has finally revealed in a recent podcast that Kalki 2 would go on floors in the third week of December 2025, and the prep for the same is going on as of now.
He says, “The vast scale of the film needs a lot of pre-production, and the same is being looked at by my team. A chunk of money is being spent on the VFX, and the post-production will take a lot of time. If you ask me, I do not have a proper idea when the film will be released as of now. But one thing I can guarantee is that we are taking the film on floors in the month of December 2025. I will start shooting with the other stars, and Prabhas, who is busy with multiple films, will join the film later.”
Santhosh Narayanan has composed the music, and the news is that he has already started working on the background score of the film.

Some of the biggest stars like Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan will be seen in key roles in this film. There is also news that a new cast will join the second part. The director also revealed that close to a year will be taken up by the post-production of the film.
As of now, Prabhas is busy completing his current commitments, Fauji and The Raja Saab. Once he is done with these, he will start shooting for Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit. Only after that will he give dates for Kalki 2898 AD 2. More details of this film are awaited soon.
