Kalki 2898 AD release date is out. The highly anticipated futuristic dystopian science fiction film marks the first onscreen collaboration of superstar Prabhas and director Nag Ashwin. The movie, which features Deepika Padukone as the female lead, was originally supposed to hit theatres in May 2024. However, the magnum opus was later postponed due to technical reasons. As per the recent updates, Kalki 2898 AD is now slated to hit the theatres on June 27, 2024.
Kalki 2898 AD gets a new release date
Recently, the makers of the much-awaited dystopian sci-fi film, which was initially named Project K, took to their official social media handle and officially announced the release date with a new update. “All the forces come together for a better tomorrow on 27-06-2024” reads the official X (formerly Twitter) post of Vyjayanthi Movies, the prestigious production banner that bankrolls the Nag Ashwin directorial. Along with the new update, the makers also dropped a brand-new poster of Kalki 2898 AD, featuring lead pair Prabhas and Deepika Padukone, along with legend Amitabh Bachchan.
The new update on the project came out as a big relief for Prabhas fans and Telugu cinema audiences, who were complaining about the lack of promotions and updates from the makers. Notably, the promotional materials of Kalki 2898 AD that have been released so far promise that director Nag Ashwin and his team are busy creating a never-seen-before cinematic experience that meets international standards. As per the reports, the team is now set to treat the cine-goers to back-to-back updates, including a new character teaser and first single, very soon.

Kalki 2898 AD – The cast and characters
Prabhas is reportedly playing the role of Bhairava, who is supposedly the alter-ego of the Kalki avatar, in the Nag Ashwin directorial. Amitabh Bachchan, the legendary Bollywood superstar, is set to appear in the role of the immortal Ashwatthama in Kalki 2898 AD. Deepika Padukone is reportedly appearing in the role of Padma in the movie. Kamal Haasan, the veteran actor, is set to make an extended cameo appearance in the film as lead antagonist Kali. The legend’s look for the movie has been kept under wraps so far.
