Kalki 2898 AD: This is how Deepika Padukone surprised Saswata Chatterjee during shooting

Kalki 2898 AD is arguably one of the grandest pan India films in recent times. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the film features Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas, Kamal Hassan, Disha Patani, and others. The trailer was dropped recently and netizens can’t keep calm.

Set in a post-apocalyptic world in 2898 AD, the film brings together ancient Hindu references and blends them with futuristic gizmos. Along with the aura of stars like Prabhas, Deepika, and Amitabh Bachchan, the film also exudes the vibe of an expensive film. According to reports, the budget of the film was nothing short of Rs 600 cr.

In Kalki 2898 AD, Saswata plays a key character, Commander Manas. From the trailer, we see that he regulated an army. Earlier, in an interview with OTTplay, Saswata elaborated on how Deepika Padukone surprised him with her modesty. “My daughter is a fan of Deepika. When she learnt that, she handed me over an autographed photograph for my daughter. I was touched and my daughter was elated,” he said.

Meanwhile, Saswata is currently busy with the shooting of Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury’s Dear Ma. While the actor plays the character of a police officer, the film also features Jaya Ahsan, Chandan Roy Sanyal, Dhritiman Chatterjee, and others. After the Kolkata leg of shooting, the team is now around a beach area for outdoor shooting. Along with Aparajita Adhya, Saswata is seen in Manasi Barua's debut feature film, Eta Amader Golpo.
