Multifaceted composer-actor GV Prakash Kumar , who is promoting his latest movie, Kalvan, revealed he had a long-standing feud with Tamil star Dhanush. To some extent, the duo avoided each other completely for more than five years, despite working within the small circle of the Tamil film industry.

While refraining from revealing the details of the feud with Dhanush, Prakash confirmed that things are better between the two now. "Fighting with each other is common, especially if the friendship is real. There will also be understanding. Dhanush and I didn't talk for six years, but we have grown closer again," he revealed while speaking to a YouTube channel recently.

Prakash and Dhanush have shared one of the most successful actor-composer relationships in the Tamil film industry. Prakash has scored music for Dhanush's blockbusters like Polladhavan, Aadukalam, and Mayakkam Enna.

While some may not have noticed, the duo didn't collaborate for a long time. Rumours were rampant about a serious rift between them, but neither Dhanush nor Prakash officially reacted to the reports so far.

However, the duo seems to have put everything behind them as they have resumed collaborating with each other once again. "He (Dhanush) is my good friend. Friends are those who stand by us in times of need. And we are each other's pillars," added Prakash.

Lately, Prakash has scored music for Dhanush's Maaran, Vaathi, and Captain Miller, which was released earlier this year.

In the meantime, Prakash has played the lead role in Kalvan. The film is the maiden directorial venture of cinematographer P.V. Shankar and revolves around the struggles and aspirations of tribal communities. Based on the trailer, Prakash plays a rebellious role and takes on the forest giants, elephants, and the social system that tries to oppress him.
