The 2025 Malayalam film Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra crossed Rs 200 crore on September 9, its 12th day at the box office. This is phenomenal figure for a woman-led superhero film from Malayalam. The film’s lead actor Kalyani Priyadarshan took to Instagram to thank the audience for making it a success.
“I’m beyond speechless, and truly beyond grateful for the love being showered on this film. In our industry, content has always been king, the biggest star of all - and once again, you’ve proved that to us,” Kalyani shared, while thanking the film’s director Dominic Arun and the ‘amazing cast and crew’.
Along with the post, Kalyani dropped several photos and videos from the set. But what caught our eye was a screenshot of a message from her father, director Priyadarshan.
"Success should never go to your head and failure should never go to your heart Chakkare. This is the best advice I can ever give it to you. Love you," reads the screenshot of the WhatsApp message.
For the unversed, Priyadarshan is a noted filmmaker who has delivered several hits in Malayalam and even in Hindi. Some of his popular Malayalam films are Killukam, Chithram and Midhunam, all starring Mohanlal. He is best known in Hindi for Hera Pheri and Bhool Bhulaiya.
