Kalyani Priyadarshan’s upcoming movie Sesham Mike-il Fathima seems to have already bagged its OTT deal. The film, directed by journalist-turned-filmmaker Manu C Kumar, went on floors on September 14 in Kerala.

Sesham Mike-il Fathima, which is touted to be a light-hearted entertainer, has the actress essaying the role of a football announcer named Fathima. Set in Malappuram, the movie also has Shaheen Siddique and Sudheesh in pivotal roles.

The movie’s pooja function was held last Tuesday. Kabir Singh’s cinematographer Santhana Krishnan and composer Hesham Abdul Wahab, who are also part of the crew, attended the function.

Kalyani took her social media page to share the motion poster of the film earlier this week. “There’s a new Paathu in town… and I can’t wait for you to meet her! You guys have shown me nothing but kindness and love and I hope you shower us with the same for this story,” she wrote, adding that it will be a fun movie.

We now hear that the film’s OTT rights have been sold to Netflix. It’s yet be revealed whether the film will be a direct-to-OTT release or would have a theatrical run before it hits the platform. The actress’ previous movie Thallumaala, which had grossed over Rs 70 crore worldwide, had hit the streaming platform on September 11.

The actress has been on a winning run lately, being part of film such as Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Bro Daddy, Silambarasan TR’s Maanadu and Pranav Mohanlal’s Hridayam, which had also crossed Rs 50 crore at the box office earlier this year.

Sesham Mike-il Fathima will once again have the actress talking in a Malabar slang, something that she had been apprehensive about before the release of Thallumaala but passed with flying colours. In an earlier interview with OTTplay, the actress, who admits she is enjoying the love the audience has given her characters and films, said, “I am grateful for everything, and this is exactly where I wanted to be. Honestly, I am still scared; at some point I think I would do something and mess it all up but I am hoping that I will be forgiven when I do that.”
