Polimera skipped its theatrical release and was out on OTT. Seeing the success of the first part, the makers decided to release the sequel in theaters. Maa Oori Polimeraaa 2, featuring Satyam Rajesh and Dr. Kamakshi Bhaskarla, was a big hit on the big screens and shocked even the trade pundits.
The film is now streaming on Aha and has clocked over 100 million streaming minutes already. The icing on the cake happened when Kamakshi won the best actress award at the prestigious 14th Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival 2024 in New Delhi. She won the award for her intense performance as Lachimi in this film, which is based on black magic.
Speaking about the award, Kamakshi says, "I am thrilled to win such a prestigious award at such an early stage in my career. The entire credit goes to my guru Rathna Shekhar, from Samahaara Theatre group, which gave me a solid learning ground to pursue my dream as an actress".
Maa Oori Polimera 2 is directed by Anil Vishwanath and his narration won a lot of praise. Despite being from a non-filmy background, the manner in which Anil executed the delicate subject won the hearts of money. In just three days of its release, Maa Oori Polimera 2 ended as a safe zone at the box office.
Kamakshi is thrilled to bits and says the film ended as a smash hit at the box office, and then it recorded views on Aha. "When we were so happy with the film's performance, the Dada Saheb Phalke Award win is the icing on the cake. "We now have a bigger responsibility to make the third part even better, and I am sure our director, Anil, will come up with something special," says Kamakshi.
