Kamal Haasan is busy promoting Thug Life, which marks his reunion with Mani Ratnam after nearly four decades after Nayakan. During a recent promotional event, Kamal Haasan was asked whether the audiences can expect a combination of Kamal Haasan with Mohanlal and Mammootty.
"It is Mammootty sir whom we are missing out on. But Mohanlal and I have done films. It 's not enough though. But we will do. They know that I am open to it,” Kamal Haasan explained.
But the veteran actor was quick to point out that there needs to be good stories. “They are great actors, you can't waste them. Just for a star combination, you cannot waste great actors like that,” he added.
For the unversed, Kamal Haasan has starred along with Lucifer star Mohanlal in the Tamil film, Unnaipol Oruvan. It is the remake of the Hindi film, titled A Wednesday. Mohanlal appears as DGP Raghavan Maraar, while Kamal Haasan essays the role of the anonymous caller.
Kamal Haasan also appeared as the narrator of the anthology series, Manorathangal. Through its nine stories, the anthology brought together the biggest names from Malayalam, including Mohanlal, Mammootty, Fahadh Faasil and Parvathy Thiruvothu, among several others. Meanwhile, Thug Life, starring Kamal Haasan, is slated to hit theatres on Jun 5, 2025. The highly-anticipated Malayalam film is already in the news for various reasons.
