Tamil superstar Kamal Haasan remains steadfast in his vision to pursue his political ambitions alongside his artistic endeavours. During a recent media interaction, he reiterated his desire to continue acting in and producing movies, even as he appears to be gearing up to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, scheduled in the next few months.

Kamal Haasan not to emulate Thalapathy Vijay in politics

Kamal's stance sharply contrasts with Thalapathy Vijay's approach to politics. Vijay declared his decision to step away from cinema to fully dedicate himself to building his newly launched political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam. When Kamal was asked if he would follow the suit, he dismissed it, arguing that there was no point in comparison.

"It is his (Vijay's) wish. The kind of films he does are very different from mine. Poet Snehan will write songs in a certain way, which will be very different from my writing style. And you cannot ask why can't you write a song like him. It all depends on the individual's capabilities," Kamal emphasised, asserting that there is no such thing as a "full-time politician."

Meanwhile, Kamal also expressed his appreciation for Vijay's recent foray into politics, acknowledging that he was among the first individuals who encouraged him to get involved in politics. "I have already discussed politics with him (Vijay). I think I was the first person to welcome him into politics. It happened at my office," Kamal stated, refraining from revealing whether he intends to form a political alliance with him in the future.

Thalapathy Vijay's shocking announcement

Earlier this year, Vijay sent shockwaves across the country when he announced his decision to leave cinema for politics. "I view my enduring dedication to politics not just as a profession but as a sacred responsibility to the people. To me, politics is not a leisure activity; rather, it is a deep-seated commitment. Consequently, I will successfully conclude the projects I have currently undertaken without hindering the endeavours of my political party. After that, I will wholeheartedly engage in the service of the people of Tamil Nadu, undistracted," he stated in his announcement.

It is believed that Thalapathy 69 will mark the curtain call on Vijay's acting career.
