The box office collection of Kamal Haasan's latest release, Vikram, which is running to packed shows, has crossed Rs 400 crore. The film, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, hit screens on June 3, and the star cast comprises Kamal Haasan, Vijay Sethupathi, Fahadh Faasil and Suriya in a special appearance. The supporting cast includes Narain, Kalidas Jayaram, Arjun Das, Gayathrie Shankar, Chemban Jose Vinod to name a few. The film has emerged as one of the biggest hits of Kamal Haasan and has broken many records in the process. While the domestic collection is around Rs 280 crore, the overseas collection is over Rs 120 crore. Vikram has done exceptionally well in the UK, US, Australia and Middle East.

Vikram collection has crossed that of Rajinikanth's 2.0 and Rajamouli's Baahubali 2: The Conclusion. The film has grossed around Rs 155 crore and has overtaken Baahubali 2’s record of Rs 152 crore. Vikram has been bankrolled under Kamal Haasan's home banner Raaj Kamal Films International. Buoyed by the success of the film, the actor had gifted the film's director Lokesh Kanagaraj, a luxury car and Suriya, a luxury watch.

The success meet for the film was held in Chennai, which was attended by Kamal Haasan, who played the titular character in Vikram, director Lokesh Kanagaraj, music composer Anirudh Ravichander and distributor Udhayanidhi Stalin.The Tamil Nadu distributor, Udhayanidhi Stalin announced at that moment that the film had crossed Rs 75 crore in Tamil Nadu and that no other Tamil cinema had made so much money so far as he know. "There are theatres still screening the film at 7am on weekends and the shows are housefull. It looks like the pressure to get tickets will be on until 5-6 weeks of release," he had stated then. Kamal Haasan had also released a video in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu,Kannada and Hindi, thanking the audience for buying tickets and watching the film.
