Mollywood star Nivin Pauly is all set to make his digital debut with director Ratheesh Balakrishnan Poduval’s Kankam Kaamini Kalaham, which is set to release this month.
The movie, which is a quirky over-the-top comedy, has an ensemble cast featuring Nivin, Grace Antony, Vinay Forrt, Rajesh Madhavan, Sudheesh and Joy Mathew in pivotal roles.
What is Kanakam Kaamini Kalaham about?
The movie revolves around an unhappy couple played by Nivin and Grace, who decide to check into a hotel. However, once they enter the hotel, they find out that the place has much bigger problems than their own.
Apart from the first 20 minutes of the movie, the rest of the film, helmed by Android Kunjappan Ver. 5.25 director, is set within the hotel. It’s filled with interesting characters and a whacky premise that promises to keep the audience laughing throughout the movie.
In fact, Ratheesh had earlier told us that he was worried if the humour was way over the top, but several filmmakers including Sanu John Varghese, who had watched the movie, rated the movie higher than his debut venture.
Where was Kanakam Kaamini Kalaham shot?
Though the film is set in a fictional hotel called Hilltop Hotel, it was shot in Abad Atrium in Kochi after the lockdown rules were eased last year. They had scouted for several locations before finalising the hotel in Kochi as they could view what’s happening on floors of the hotel from its lobby.
When is Kanakam Kaamini Kalaham releasing?
The movie, produced by Nivin, will drop on Disney+ Hotstar on Disney Plus Day on November 12. The film will also be the platform’s first direct Malayalam OTT release.
