Actor Ali Fazal cannot keep calm as his new Hollywood action thriller, Kandahar, is all set for its worldwide theatrical release. Ali stars alongside Gerard Butler in the film, which is directed by Ric Roman Waugh. It has been revealed that the film will release on May 26.

Talking about the film, Ali said, "As is the case with all my films, I am looking forward to the release of Kandahar. I can promise that the action in the film has never been seen before and is state-of-the-art. Ric Roman is beating his own record."

He also mentioned that the entire team has worked hard to recreate a certain kind of world for the film. "It was a pleasure to work with Gerard, and I hope that people across the world enjoy the film," added Ali.

The film also stars Olivia-Mai Barrett, Navid Negahban, Bahador Foladi, and Faizan Munawar, among others. Gerard Butler plays an undercover CIA operative stuck deep in hostile territory in Afghanistan. He fights his way out, along with his Afghan translator, to an extraction point in Kandahar. What happens next is what sets the basic storyline of the film.

This is Ali's second Hollywood release after Death on the Nile, which was released last year. Apart from this film, Ali has multiple projects in the pipeline. The actor will be seen in Vishal Bharadwaj's Khufiya, alongside Tabu and Wamiqa Gabbi, which will release on Netflix. Ali's film as a producer, The Underbug, in which he has also acted, is doing the rounds at several film festivals. He will also appear in the third season of Amazon Prime Video's Mirzapur.

Kandahar is all set to be released worldwide on May 26.
