Kangana Ranaut has joined the Tejas or URI 2 debate on internet. This happens a day ahead of her film’s teaser launch. It so happens that Kangana is considering renaming the film if required. She has left that discussion open to her fans, but not revealed whether she will actually change the name at the end moment.
Many people have demanded that Kangana Ranaut’s Tejas should be renamed as URI 2. This has happened for a while now. Kangana has finally taken notice of it and asked her fans if the film should be renamed.
While on Instagram, Kangana has only revealed that the teaser of her film will be out tomorrow, she also mentioned how netizens have been demanding that her movie be called URI 2. She shared her Instagram post on Twitter with the caption, “Batao kya karein? #Tejas ya #URI2?”
Tejas vs URI
While Tejas tries to instil a deep sense of pride in the soldiers, it is about the Air Force. Tejas is actually the name of a fighter aircraft for the Indian Air Force and Navy. Meanwhile, URI was based on the specific attacks in URI and how the Indian soldiers retaliated to it. The Vicky Kaushal starrer recreated the surgical strikes of 2016, which was a retaliation to the Uri attack the same year. The Aditya Dhar directorial became the first hit of the year and was eventually declared a blockbuster. With Vicky’s dialogue ‘How’s the Josh’ and reply, ‘High, Sir!’ becoming a hookline on social media, URI became a cultural phenomenon. In fact, even Prime Minister Narendra Modi used the dialogue while inaugurating the National Museum of Indian Cinema of Films Division of India in Mumbai. The Indian cricket team also asked ‘How’s The Josh’ after winning ODI series in New Zealand. That was the impact URI left back when it released in 2019.
