Salman Khan - who is currently in Dubai celebrating the success of his film Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, which has crossed the ₹100-crore mark at the box office - has also been in the news lately because of the death threats he has been receiving from gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. Due to that, the superstar has also been provided with Y+ security by Mumbai Police. Speaking about it in Dubai recently, Salman said, “Yahan par hoon toh kisi cheez ki zaroorat bhi nahi hai, yahan pe totally safe hai; India ke andar thoda sa problem hai.” Now, Kangana Ranaut has reacted to his statement, saying that the “country is in safe hands”.

The Thalaivii actress said that Salman has been provided with security by the Centre, and there is nothing to fear when Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah are getting him protection. She further added that even she was given appropriate security by the government when she was threatened and that the country is in safe hands.

Salman spoke about the death threats during his appearance in India TV’s Aap Ki Adalat show. He said that the security has made it impossible for him to ride bicycles on the road or go anywhere alone. He added that the ample security creates nuisance on the road when he is stuck in traffic, resulting in inconvenience for other people on the road.

“There is a serious threat that’s why there is security. I am doing whatever I have been told. There is a dialogue in Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, they have to be lucky 100 times, I have to be lucky once. So, I have to be very careful. So many guns are going around with me that I am scared these days.” he added.

Salman was assigned security escorts by the Maharashtra government after receiving a threat letter from the Bishnoi gang. In addition to this, Salman also received a threat call and letter from two separate individuals in March and April of this year.

In April, Mumbai Police arrested a minor who had allegedly threatened to kill Salman during a phone call. The caller, who identified himself as Rocky Bhai from Jodhpur in Rajasthan, claimed to be a Gau Rakshak (cow-vigilante) and threatened to “eliminate” Salman.

On March 26, a person named Dhakad Ram from Luni in Rajasthan’s Jodhpur district was arrested for sending a threat mail to the actor. A case was registered at the Bandra Police Station. In the mail, the accused had claimed that the actor would meet the same fate as Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala.

On the work front, Kangana is set to feature next in Emergency, which revolves around the life of India’s former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The film stars Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhry, Vishak Nair and Shreyas Talpade in prominent roles. Apart from this, she will also appear in Tejas, Chandramukhi 2, Manikarnika Returns: The Legend of Didda and The Incarnation: Sita.

After Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Jaan - which also featured Pooja Hegde, Venkatesh Daggubati, Shehnaaz Gill, Palak Tiwari and Raghav Juyal, among others - Salman will be seen next in Tiger 3, alongside Katrina Kaif. Helmed by Maneesh Sharma, the film is scheduled to hit the theatres in November 2023.
