Kangana Ranaut set for Hollywood debut with a horror film | Know the movie title and other details

Kangana Ranaut was recently seen in Emergency. It is a biographical political drama that revolves around the 21 months from 1975 to 1977 when the late Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi imposed a state of emergency across India. The movie, however, received mixed responses. Now, a new report suggests that the actress is all set for her Hollywood debut. It is a horror film and is being produced by Lions Movies.

Kangana Ranaut's Hollywood debut

Variety reported that Kangana Ranaut is all set to make her Hollywood debut. She will be seen in a lead role in the horror drama, reportedly titled Blessed Be The Evil. The film is being produced by Lions Movies. Apart from Ranaurt, the film will also star actors such as Tyler Posey and Scarlet Rose Stallone, best known for Teen Wolf and Tulsa King, respectively.

The portal also mentioned that the production on the film is set to begin this summer in New York, with producers choosing US locations to avoid potential disruptions.

It is reported that the film will be directed by Anurag Rudra. He co-wrote the script with Gatha Tiwary, president and founder of Lions Movies.

Speaking about the film’s plot, it's the story of a Christian couple who are grieving the loss of a child after a miscarriage. In order to start over, they buy an abandoned farm, but they are haunted by an evil force. The film explores themes of love, loss, and faith in the face of evil.

Director Rudra revealed, “Being born and spending my childhood in rural India, I was told stories that got embedded in my mind and heart. This folklore was so special that I truly believed in all the stories, and wanted to showcase them internationally through the art of cinema – the strongest and most beautiful way to connect to dreams and reality."

Kangana Ranaut in Emergency

Kangana was last seen in Emergency. It marks her directorial debut. However, the film did not perform well at the box office. 

The film also stars Anupam Kher as Jayaprakash Narayan, Milind Soman as Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, Shreyas Talpade as Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Mahima Chaudhry, and others. Meanwhile, Emergency is streaming on Netflix.
