Kangana Ranaut's ‘Covid baby’, Tiku Weds Sheru will be released on Amazon Prime Video

Kangana Ranaut’s first film as a producer, Tiku Weds Sheru will be a direct-to-OTT release. The film will be released on Amazon Prime Video. Nawazuddin Siddiqui and TV star and influencer Avneet Kaur also feature in the film, which is directed by Sai Kabir.

Kangana said to RepublicWorld that the influence of OTT platforms is a blessing for aspiring producers like her, calling the digital arena the most democratic media. She said that the film was conceptualized during the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic and referred to it as “a COVID baby”. She continued that she is overwhelmed with the support she got from Amazon Prime Video.

Tiku Weds Sheru is a dark satirical movie and a forthcoming romance drama. Kangana Ranaut produced the movie, which is written and directed by Sai Kabir under the Manikarnika Films banner. Avneet will portray a Muslim country girl, Tiku, whose life is flipped upside down when she meets a man twice her age, Sheru, played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui. This, according to Kangana, is one of the film's unique selling points. On April 28, Tiku Weds Sheru was announced as one of Amazon Prime Video's new projects during a star-studded event in Mumbai.

Avneet Kaur began her career as an actress and as a child performer in television series and movies. She's come a very long way since then. For the first time, the actress will play a leading role in a Bollywood film. With Tiku Weds Sheru, Avneet makes her Bollywood debut. And, Nawazuddin will be playing her unusual love interest. He was last seen in the action film, Heropanti 2 starring Tiger Shroff and Tara Sutaria, which hit the cinema theatres today.
