Kanguva OTT release date: When to stream Suriya’s film on Prime Video

Kanguva, the 2024 Suriya-starrer film directed by filmmaker Siva, released in theatres in November. With Prime Video bagging the post-theatrical streaming rights of the film, the streaming platform officially announced on Friday that the film will begin streaming on December 8. It will be available in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada languages.

Kanguva OTT release date: Suriya’s film to stream from this date?

Actor Suriya and director Siva joined hands for the first time for Kanguva, a period action drama which released in theatres in November. The Tamil film has its OTT rights bagged by Prime Video, which we had reported earlier this year. Now, the official announcement from Prime Video has revealed that the film will begin streaming from December 8 in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. 

Kanguva also stars Bobby Deol and Disha Patani in their Tamil debuts, along with actors Yogi Babu, Redin Kingsley, Natty, Vasundhara Kashyap, and others. Featuring Suriya in dual roles, Kanguva is set in two timelines and revolves around a bounty hunter from the current time getting connected to a young boy who he shares a special connection with, in his previous birth as a warrior prince.

The film is backed by Studio Green and has music by Devi Sri Prasad. Kanguva opened to mixed to poor reviews upon its release, leaving fans disappointed with the film.

Karthi makes special appearance in Kanguva

One of the highlights of Kanguva is that it marked the first onscreen collaboration of brothers and actors Suriya and Karthi. Towards the end of Kanguva, Karthi makes a menacing appearance, setting the stage for the sequel and paving the way for the brothers’ face-off.

The makers have not talked much about the film’s sequel, and no information on when the project will go on floors and see the daylight have been discussed so far.
