Kanguva out on OTT: Stream Suriya’s action drama in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada right now here

Kanguva, the 2024 Tamil film starring Suriya in the lead role, is now available for streaming on Prime Video in four Indian languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. The film is directed by Siva.

Actor Suriya teamed up with director Siva for the first time with Kanguva. A period action drama, the film released in theatres in November. While we had earlier reported that Prime Video has bagged the streaming rights of the film, Kanguva is now available on the platform to watch. It is available in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.

In Kanguva, Suriya appears in dual roles, as a warrior prince in the past and bounty hunter in the present. When the latter gets strangely connected to a young boy named Zeta who escaped a brain experiment, he gets connected to his past as a clan head. The film marked the Tamil debut of Hindi actors Disha Patani and Bobby Deol, who play the female lead and antagonist respectively. Apart from them, the film also stars Karunas, Natty, KS Ravikumar, Redin Kingsley and Yogi Babu among others.

Kanguva also features a special appearance by Suriya’s brother, Karthi. His appearance towards the end, as credits roll, hints at the possibilities of sequel and how it will be a clash between the brothers.

Jyotika defends Kanguva

Upon its release, Kanguva met with poor reviews for its weak writing and execution. In particular, the loud soundscape of the film by Devi Sri Prasad was heavily criticised. However, producer, actor and Suriya’s wife, Jyotika came to the defence and highly praised the film, while calling out those who trolled Kanguva.

The film is backed by Studio Green. It has music by Devi Sri Prasad, with Vetri Palanisamy cranking the camera. Nishadh Yusuf has handled the edits. Details on the second part of the film have not yet been revealed by the makers.
