Roshan Mathew has been consistently delivering outstanding performances in gripping thrillers, captivating audiences whether he's working in his native Malayalam content or Hindi. Following his powerful role in the 2024 Bollywood film, Uljah, starring Janhvi Kapoor, the Malayalam actor is set to return to Hindi content in the web series, Kankhajura, which will premiere on SonyLIV and OTTplay Premium this May 2025.
The upcoming crime-thriller web series, Kankhajura, starring Roshan Mathew, Mohit Raina, Sarah-Jane Dias, Mahesh Shetty, Ninad Kamat, Trinetra Haldar, Heena Shah, Usha Nadkarni, is set to drop on SonyLIV and OTTplay Premium, on May 30, 2025. The Hindi series consists of 8 episodes, each promises to more thrilling than that previous one.
The upcoming web series centers around the life of a mysterious a man, who was jailed in his youth, but gets out sooner than expected. However, there's a catch, though. To be free, he must help the police by giving them some dark informations, just like he did when he was still locked up.
The story takes place in Goa. It's about two brothers, who used to be close but are not anymore. They don't get along. Something sinister happened in their past, something dark and difficult. Now, because of what's happening at present, they are forced to face those past. They have a hard time trusting each other again. It's like they are trying to put broken pieces back together. Not only are they dealing with their feelings and trying to heal, but they're also in danger in the real world. They have to find ways to stay safe and survive.
The story also looks at some big sides of life. One is betrayal, another is redemption. It also shows how complicated it can be when families break apart and how hard it is to fix those broken connections.
The recently released teaser grabs the viewer's attention with its thrilling pace, but surprisingly begins with a basic lesson about centipedes, explaining what are they like, and how they move. The scene then shifts to introduce Roshan Mathew as the main character, with a narrator saying in the background, "Woh kamzor taab taak hai jaab taak woh aandar nahi ghusta" (He's weak until he gets inside), hinting that something intense is about to unfold.
