Only two weeks to go for the fourth edition of the star-studded Kannada Chalanachitra Cup tournament and ticket bookings just opened. To be held between December 23 and 25 at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, KCC Part IV, will have six teams battling it out for supremacy. The advantage of having an extra play day, unlike earlier editions which were held over two days only, is that each team gets to play the other, accounting for a total of 15 round robin matches. The organizers, led by Kiccha Sudeep, whose brainchild the tournament is, are looking at conducting 6 T10 matches each on Day 1 and 2, another 3 on day 3 and then the finale.
Tickets for the tournament are nominally priced starting at Rs 100 and going up to Rs 1,000 depending on which part of the stand you choose to watch from. Each ticket is valid for all six matches of the day. On day 3, the Rs 500, 750 and Rs 1,000 tickets will go for Rs 750, 1,000 and 2,000, while there’s no price change for the Rs 100 and Rs 250 stands. Should you be unable to catch the matches and your favourite stars in action at the stadium, you can watch them live on TV or on a streaming platform. The broadcast partner is Zee Picchar, while Zee5 has the streaming rights.
Matches will begin as early as 9 am on both December 23 and 24, and go on late into the night, with the schedule planned in such a way that all the teams get to play under the floodlights of the Chinnaswamy Stadium. The team captains are J Karthik for Vijayanagara Patriots, Rajeev Hanu for Kadamba Lions, Chennai Rhinos CCL Player Vikrant for Wodeyar Chargers, Ganesh for Ganga Warriors, Pradeep for Rashtrakuta Panthers by Pradeep and Kiccha Sudeep for Hoysala Eagles.
