Kannada cinema releases in November: Sakath, Premam Poojyam, Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vahana and more

The Deepavali weekend, it would seem, is for the biggies from other languages to fight it out at the box office, with no major Kannada film release lined up. Shivarajkumar’s Bhajarangi 2, which released on October 29, but was then on hold as theatres shut for two days owing to his brother Puneeth Rajkumar’s unfortunate demise, will still be in contention, until the next lot of Kannada movies hit theatres on November 12. While there are three Kannada films vying for halls and audiences, the following week also has three. The last week of the month is, as of now, still up for grabs, but with Sriimurali’s Madhagaja then expected on December 3, there may not be any takers for that slot.

Premam Poojyam 

Release date: November 12 (confirmed) 

Directed by newcomer Dr Raghavendra BS, this is Nenapirali Prem’s milestone 25th film and was expected to release on October 29, along with Bhajarangi 2, but the team decided to move it ahead by two weeks.

Sakath

Release date: November 12 (confirmed) 

Golden Star Ganesh’s second film with director Suni has created quite a buzz after the team dropped the song Premakke Kannilla and a teaser for the actor’s character Balu, making it one of the most anticipated films. The film pairs Ganesh with Nishvika Naidu.

Tom and Jerry

Release date: November 12 (confirmed)

This is Gantumoote actor Nischith Korodi’s second film. He is paired with Chaitra Rao in the film. 

Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vahana 

Release date: November 19 (confirmed)

Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vahana is not only Ondu Motteya Kathe fame Raj B Shetty’s return to direction, but also pairs him with Rishab Shetty for an intense story about the underworld, set in Mangaluru.

This is actor-filmmaker Ramesh Aravind’s latest directorial, which deals with cybercrime and has him in the role of a cybercrime sleuth. The film also stars Rachita Ram and Poorna in pivotal roles.

Mugilpete

Manu Ravichandran’s ‘comeback’ film is an intense love story, with the right amounts of drama and action. The film brings Pune gal Kayadu Lohar to Kannada cinema.
