Rachita Ram has got to be the busiest actress in Kannada cinema now. The actress is a part of at least 15-16 films that are in various stages of production. And the interesting part about her films is that she has a mix of star-driven projects, like Kranti, Bad Manners, Veeram, etc., as well as others with relatively newer teams, with plots that revolve around her character. It’s a good place to be in and the best bit is that the actress is in no mood to slow down.
Earlier today, it was announced that Rachita has been signed up as the female lead opposite Yashas Surya in director Yogaraj Bhat’s next project, Garadi, which is being bankrolled by actor-filmmaker-politico BC Patil. The team announced this casting news with images of Rachita visiting Patil at his office, along with Yogaraj. Although the team has already begun shooting for the film, which was launched officially in mid-November, Rachita, we hear, will join them only in January, as the actress has other commitments to honour.
While Patil will also be seen in the film, the makers tell us that Challenging Star Darshan will have a pivotal role as well. Garadi, they say, will be shot in locations across North Karnataka, Badami, Patadkal, etc., as the subjects deals with local wrestling and gymnasium culture. The film is Yashas’ first major lead role, while for Rachita, it is the maiden collaboration with Yogaraj. V Harikrishna, who is currently making Kranti with Darshan and Rachita, but is a regular collaborator with Yogaraj, is on board as the film’s music director.
Rachita, meanwhile, is gearing up for the release of her film Love You Rachchu on December 31. The film, produced by Guru Deshpande, pairs her with Krishna Ajai Rao. Yogaraj, on the other hand, recently wrapped up filming of Gaalipata 2, which has Ganesh, Pawan Kumar, Diganth, Vaibhavi Shandilya, Sharmiela Mandre and Samyuktha Menon, in the lead.
