It’s taken them a while, but it appears that Kannada filmmakers have finally taken note of the beauty that is Sid Sriram’s voice. The singer, who was brought to Sandalwood for Haayagide from the Nischit Korodi-starrer Tom and Jerry by composer Mathews Manu, followed that up with an even better number. Sid’s second Kannada song is Nee Sigoovaregu from Shivarajkumar’s Bhajarangi 2, which is a chart-topper composed by Arjun Janya.

The singer, we hear, has already sung a third, this time for composer Manikanth Kadri. Producer Guru Deshpande says, “I like Sid’s voice a lot; it has a special vibe to it. Normally, when romantic melodies are composed, the go-to voices tend to be Sonu Nigam, Armaan Malik or even Sanjith Hegde. Although Sanjith has sung another song for Love You Rachchu, Nodutha Nannanne, which has been well received, I wanted a different voice for a duet and thought Sid would be perfect. The song, Muddu Neenu, has been sung by Sid along with Supriya Ram and has come out beautifully. Manikanth has a track record of composing great melodies, while lyricist Nagarjun Sharma writes beautiful verses, so, in total, it’s a winsome combination. We are now releasing the video of the song on November 8.

The upcoming Kannada film Love You Rachchu is special on several counts; for starters, it is a collaboration of three filmmakers. Produced by Guru Deshpande, who is known for his directorials like Rajahuli and Rudratandava, among others, for his home banner, the film’s story has been written by director Shashank, while newbie Shankar Raj has brought it all together. The film brings together Krishna Ajai Rao and Rachita Ram in the lead, in what is their first collaboration ever.
